Prelude and Fugue in A major - (2010)
for organ
Within the 6/8 meter, the theme opens as an extended arpeggio continuing with with a contoured downward and upward swing. The second voice answers the first in imitation, and thereafter broken chords punctuate the episodes before a rondo-like return.
The fugue is related to the theme of the prelude, this time beginning on the three of the scale and in two phrases. As a small work, the harmonic regions appear and disappear quickly, only portions of the subject being stated.
