Prelude and Fugue in A minor - (2012)
for piano
The raised sixth and seventh of the minor tonic play against each other around an inconsistent pedal of the dyad, C-E, which rises to fall again as the static interior voices in this little fantasy.
The fugue subject begins with that C-E dyad, the prominent raised sixth and seventh now passing notes in the melodic gestures. The subject appears in tonic, sub-dominant and dominant, with a short stretto as coda.
