Prelude and Fugue in B flat major - (2011)
for piano
A bright, up-tempo feeling with blue note coloration and some end-of-measure, percussive punctuation (as at measure eight and beyond) create this lightly aggressive, tongue-in-cheek prelude.
The fugue mirrors the prelude's blue-note references, and spans a twelfth. The subsequent entries include a dalliance in the sub-mediant minor, as well as some canonic treatment of portions of the subject.
