Prelude and Fugue in B flat minor - organ

Prelude and Fugue in B flat minor - (2010)

for organ

The traditional B-A-C-H theme is subject of the prelude, in the same relationships as the fugue, tonic and dominant. The second measure of the opening phrase pitches it one one higher, with other quotes from this famous four-notes found within the prelude.

The fugue subject extends the B-A-C-H into an extended rising gesture to the octave, in a dense, chromatic and compact fugue. Meno mosso and maestoso feelings end the piece with the major third as in the prelude.
