Prelude and Fugue in C sharp major - (2011)
for piano
The simple chorale creates a duet between top and bottom lines, with more static interior voices, mostly triads. The theme moves between octaves with a light amount of development.
The fugue subject extends the simple, opening gambit of the prelude's treble line, with a second, answering phrase returning the arch downward. Baroque textures as well as parallel triads make the counterpoint thereto, as the subject moves between tonic, dominant and one appearance in the subdominant.
