Sonatina for Harp  - (2018)

 for Lucienne Condon-Young

For having met a colleague's daughter who just finished her university exam in harp, a work for her came to mind. As she had played the Handel concerto recently, some small references from the three movements find their way into this solo work. The opening presto alternates left and right hand three note groups as its general contrapuntal texture.

The middle movement is a lyric line over an accompaniment, with its tiny nod to Handel's middle movement theme within.

A contrapuntal last movement takes Handel's third movement theme as fugue subject, which is then blended lightly with other themes found earlier in this sonatina.
